Peter J. Guala is an attorney, mediator, and the Founder and Managing Shareholder of Guala Law Firm, P.A. During his career Mr. Guala has worked closely with clients to provide them successful representation and counsel in various legal matters regarding business matters, real estate issues, and operation of associations including issues relating to assessments, regulation of condominiums and other communities. He has acted as outside general counsel to numerous businesses. Having a professional and detail-oriented nature coupled with experience involving litigation and transactional practice, Mr. Guala is uniquely positioned to assist clients with varying legal matters.
Mr. Guala is a Board Certified Specialist in Condominium and Planned Development Law, a distinction earned by only 198 attorneys (as of 2021) in the entire state. Board certification is Florida’s official, independent determination of a lawyer’s expertise to practice in a specialty field of law. Mr. Guala has extensive experience in representing condominium associations, unit owners, and homeowners’ associations before, during and after transfer of association control from the developer to unit owners. He has also provided counsel to real estate developers including with requirements to filing with the Division of Florida Condominiums in connection with the creation of condominiums. Prior to founding Guala Law Firm, Mr. Guala was a partner at a South Florida real estate law firm where he represented clients throughout the State of Florida. With Guala Law Firm, Mr. Guala continues to offer legal services in Florida and the firm is situated to easily serve the Miami metropolitan area which includes Miami-Dade, Broward, and Palm Beach counties with cities and municipalities such as Miami, Fort Lauderdale, Boca Raton, West Palm Beach, Davie, Cooper City, Pembroke Pines, Weston, and Aventura.
In addition to being actively engaged in the practice of law, Mr. Guala serves as a mediator. Mr. Guala is a Florida Supreme Court Certified Circuit Mediator. To become certified by the Florida Supreme Court, a mediator must meet many requirements. As a certified mediator, Mr. Guala has successfully mediated litigation and pre-suit dispute cases such as those involving business, real estate, and community association issues. Mr. Guala looks forward to helping both sides explore possible solutions to their case.
